Position Objective:

Coordination of clinical student and shadow student access and orientation and contributes to the overall functioning of the Clinical Education and Professional Development Department

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Teaches appropriate content for orientation or continuing education for entry level positions.
  2. Participates in Nursing and Hospital functions as required (health fairs, women's health conference, nurses week, education activities, fund raisers such as the United Way campaign).
  3. Participates in Joint Commission readiness activities
  4. Coordinates logistics for CEPD classes held at AAMC
    1. Reserves rooms for orientation, CEPD coordinated skills sessions, continuing education, seminars and other classes held at AAMC
    2. Arranges for or assists with room set up
    3. Creates promotional materials when applicable
    4. Maintains attendance records
    5. Runs reports on attendance and delinquencies
    6. Sets up and runs AV presentation equipment (computer, projector, TV screen – Coordinates and trouble shoots problems with AV or Help desk staff).

5. Collaborates with Human Resources and appropriate departments to facilitate orientation and onboarding.

6. Communicates with the appropriate directors, educators and HR staff about orientation schedules and concerns about staff.

7.  Provides or assigns orientation materials via electronic learning management system or training materials in class to event participants.

8.  Coordinates student orientation and placement with access request, room reservations, and badge request.

9.  Maintains awareness of student group schedules and acts as a resource on the AAMC campus for the student, clinical educators, and college affiliate clinical instructors.

10. Assists in the maintenance of AHA instructor, student, and class files per AHA requirements. Issues AHA cards.

11. Assists with Health Stream Administration by creating and managing staff assignments, generates appropriate reports for education compliance and identifies appropriate resources for trouble shooting Health Stream problems.

12. Answers phone for Centralized education and assists appropriately with requested resources. Represents the CEPD department with excellent service to internal and external customers.

13. Other duties not listed may be assigned that assist with the efficient management of the Luminis Health- Clinical Education and Professional Development Department.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Required Minimum Education:  Associates Degree, BA/BS preferred

Required Minimum Experience: 2 year of experience in a health care field or adult training environment

Required License/Certifications:  N/A

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Ability to work cooperatively with all types of personalities both inside and outside the organization. Ability to set priorities, take on projects at short notice, and handle multiple Projects under deadlines.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

Flexibility to work occasionally outside normal daytime work hours.

Concentrate on moderate to fine detail for extended periods of time.

Must be able to hear normal sounds and with some background noise.

Routinely lifts objects under 20 pounds.

Can understand and operate from the conceptual basis of tasks and activities.

Ability to move tables and chairs for setting up rooms for training.

Ability to move training equipment lightweight manikins, boxes, books and other clinical training equipment.

There is reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
