Job Description
Rutherford Regional Health System
Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Will perform a variety of routine and complex testing ranging from waived to high complexity testing in all sections of the laboratory including Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Participates in patient testing, quality control, CAP surveys, policy and procedure development and equipment maintenance.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Clinical Lab Technician requirements:
Associate's Degree in Medical Lab Technician or Clinical Lab Technician required.
Clinical Lab Technologist requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required or in lieu of BA Degree HEW designation as technoloist required. Completion of Medical Technology Program required.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Clinical Lab Technician requirements:
ASCP or AMT required within 3 months of hire.
Clinical Lab Technologist requirements:
ASCP required
1-3 years laboratory experience preferred.
