You can make a difference in people’s lives every day. When you join UCLA Health, you’ll be working at an institution that provides leading-edge care to the people of L.A. and throughout the world. We provide our team members with the environment and support to do amazing work, because each and every one of them plays a vital role in our commitment to care.

The Emergency Department Clinical Information Managers (CIMs) will assist Emergency Medicine Physicians with various administrative aspects of patient care in the RR-UCLA ED. Duties include but are not limited to: documentation of history and physical findings in the electronic CareConnect medical record, follow-up of laboratory and x-ray results, paging consults, and assisting in patient admission, transfers or discharges.

CIMs will work in close association with residents and attending physicians assigned to the department and will be part of the emergency medicine team. CIMs will also be required to aid in “chart auditing” both in real-time and retrospectively, which includes reviewing physicians’ charts and procedure notes to ensure completeness, sending incomplete charts back to physicians and maintaining/updating a work queue log utilized by our coders. Please note, work hours include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The duration of this position is two years.
