Summary
Position Summary
The Clinical Dietitian will conduct nutrition assessment, monitoring and intervention on early adult to late adult patients on oral diets and on enteral or parenteral nutrition. Develop, implement and document nutrition care plans according to policy. Complete necessary documentation according to department and hospital policy.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Registered Dietitian
License/Registration/Certifications
- Licensure with South Carolina Dept. of Labor, Licensing & Regulation (SC LLR) or in process with the SC LLR request for license per SC regulations
- Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian

Core Job Responsibilities
- Attend patient care rounds and other necessary meetings held for patient care purposes.
- Coordinate and communicate patient nutrition care to physicians, nursing staff and ancillary health care members.
- Provide nutrition counseling or education on oral diets for patient and or patient family members.
- Assists Director in reviewing, revising, and updating patient education materials and approving patient menus and nutritional supplements.
- Provide in services and education for ancillary staff as needed.
- Maintain current nutrition practices through journal review, conferences and /or software courses and programs.
- Participates in the performance improvement process.
- Participates and assists in review and revision of department policies and manuals.
- Supervise nutrition assistant in absence of the Director or Superviser, when necessary.
- Provide food safety education for patients and or patient family members.
- Maintains professional standards of conduct.
- Complies with departmental, hospital and skilled nursing facility institutional standards.
- Other Duties as Assigned
