Position Summary:
Oversees all staffing and scheduling needs, reviews, assists, and maintains daily staffing, and scheduling for assigned department(s)/unit(s). Works collaboratively with time keepers on time and attendance for all department(s)/unit(s) as assigned. Assists with the development of the master schedule and continuously processing, updating, and correcting all materials related to the master schedule and reporting. Job Requirement  

Education/Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
None.

  Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements  

  1. Recent experience in managing staffing and scheduling needs in a healthcare setting.
  2. Experience in developing, updating, correcting master schedule.
  3. Proficient in Excel.

  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Knowledge of:
Staff scheduling practices and procedures; manual and electronic scheduling system; productivity and managing to targets, auditing time sheets and leave requests; record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; business arithmetic; policies, procedures, and regulations governing area of assignment; solving practical problems; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.Skill in:
Communicating with all levels of staff and management, critical thinking, ability to tracking leaves and overtime; using initiative and judgment within established procedural guidelines; administrative writing skills; applying customer service techniques; effectively handling multiple tasks and related duties; telephone interaction with staff, and visitors; working in a fast paced environment; operational procedures for information dissemination; organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines; using computers and related software applications; using general office equipment such as phones, copiers and facsimiles; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
