Summary:
A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
A Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to patients being admitted for surgery and caring for the patients following surgery. The Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse is responsible for admission and preoperative care of the surgical patient. The nursing roles during this phase focus on assessing the patient and developing a plan of care designed to meet the pre-anesthesia physical, psychological, educational/health literacy, sociocultural and spiritual needs of the patient and family. The Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse also focuses on validation of existing information and completion of preparation of the patient. The Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse will also focus on providing post-anesthesia nursing care to the patient in the immediate post-anesthesia period and transitioning them to Phase II care, the inpatient setting, or to a critical care setting for continued care or release to the home. The Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse carefully monitors the condition of patients who are waking up for postoperative anesthesia The Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op nurse will monitor post-operative vital signs, assess levels of consciousness, and carefully observe patients for any side effects from anesthesia.
Other information:
• Must have the required education needed to be a licensed Registered Nurse by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
• Current CPR
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
