Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo, Department of Family and Community Medicine, is seeking a board-certified family physician to join our full-time faculty.  We offer required clerkship and elective rotation experiences to third and fourth year medical students, and have a strong, fully accredited family and community medicine residency program.

Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Diagnose, treat and direct care independently for patients in the Texas Tech Family Medicine Clinic
  • Obtain and maintain active medical staff admitting attending hospital privileges at BSA for the purpose of serving as the attending physician on the TTFM service at BSA
  • Supervise resident physicians, medical students, mid-level providers, and nursing staff in the care of patients in the clinic and, where applicable, BSA
  • Present didactic conference sessions for colleagues and the learners identified above on topics as assigned by the department chair or their designee
  • Serve as a faculty advisor/mentor to residents or students as assigned by the department chair or their designee
  • Complete supporting documentation for patient care encounters and submit charges in a timely manner, as defined by institutional and/or department policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree of MD, DO or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for full unrestricted Texas Medical License, full federal DEA, Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine.  State Medical license record showing no disciplinary actions in past 10 years.

Preferred Qualifications

Position will be filled at appropriate rank based on selected candidates credentials.   The department will be filling up to 3 positions.
