The Associate Director, Revenue Projects implements revenue strategy opportunities to maximize cash flow and center prioritization through the creation of effective, scalable business activities. The incumbent in this role assists with the strategic alignment and oversight of special projects that prioritize various revenue generating opportunities. In close collaboration with Billing, Coding, IT and Business Intelligence (BI) COEs, and CSE, s/he gains insight and understanding of the organization’s revenue streams. The incumbent works with center leaders to introduce, facilitate and execute process improvement initiatives that drive best practices, achieve favorable collection of revenue and minimize deficiencies in the revenue cycle process. The Associate Director, Revenue Projects will be responsible for implemented business cases and managing education and execution with center leaders. S/he will work in conjunction with Revenue Data leaders to leverage insights and create actionable initiatives that can be monitored and tracked.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the implementation of business revenue strategies and programs to maximize profitability and supports Center Leaders ability to execute.
  • Maintains oversight of revenue projects to target revenue recovery and optimization throughout the organization.
  • Implements solutions for operational, coding, billing and reimbursement problems identified by the Revenue team with center leaders and coaches them to optimize efforts.
  • Assists with identifying the latest technologies that will improve departmental operations.
  • Facilitates and communicates strategy initiatives for improvements to the revenue management cycle and works with center leaders to implement strategic initiatives and improvements.
  • Designs, structures and manages the successful execution of patient initiatives.
  • Supports the integration and alignment of revenue cycle management operational activities to drive standardization, and to streamline and increase operational efficiency for center leaders.
  • Collaborates with ChenMed executives and staff to ensure a full understanding of the insights and the effective development of action plans based on those insights.
  • Aids in recruiting, hiring, orienting, training and managing revenue staff to ensure the team is set up for success.
  • Works collaboratively with revenue team, CSE, BI, IT, Billing and Coding to support organizational initiatives in centers.
  • Develops trusting relationships with all internal and external COE Leaders to determine potential misalignment and identify ways to improve revenue related priorities.
  • Collaborates and facilitates multi-stakeholder discussions to drive strategic initiatives forward to completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • High level of business acumen and acuity
  • Detailed knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing rules and regulations
  • Understanding of all revenue cycle functions and dependencies
  • Knowledge and understanding of health care reimbursement methods and ability to apply this knowledge to benefit the clients of the Revenue Cycle Management service line
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge in process improvement
  • Ability to engage and build effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to lead a staff of professionals in a positive and productive manner through motivation, development and mentorship
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, database, and presentation software
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 30% of the time
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
  • This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administrations, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field; additional experience above the minimum will be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis required
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in research design, execution, analysis and communications with a proven track record of progressive, positive business impact, including three (3) years’ professional and progressive work experience in healthcare revenue cycle management

Preferred experience:

  • Billing and Collections
  • Project Management Professional
  • Leadership experience; demonstrated success in growth and/or business development
  • Value-based, risk-model healthcare
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining initiatives, products and programing
