Position Summary


Connect Spartanburg is an adolescent health initiative at Spartanburg Regional Foundation.   Goal of Connect is to improve the holistic health and wellness of Spartanburg County teens and prevent teen pregnancy.  This is achieved by working with local entities to build community capacity, increase awareness of adolescent health issues, leverage large scale resources, evaluate effectiveness of community model, and break down barriers for teens through systems thinking.  This position will serve as the assistant director.  Goal of this position is to ensure quality implementation of evidence-based strategies in school, community and medical settings to improve adolescent health.


Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree



  • No less than 3-5 years in managing federal resources and overseeing capacity building efforts in adolescent health



  • CHES


Preferred Requirements


Preferred Education

  • Masters in Public Health preferred


Preferred Experience

  • No less than 5 years of training and technical assistance in an evidence-based adolescent health strategy



Core Job Responsibilities


  • Coordinating and ensure high quality training/capacity building as outlined in the annual professional development plan
  • Oversee continuous quality improvement strategies and provide technical assistance of funded partners based on evaluation data
  • Serve as an expert in the thirteen evidence-based interventions funded by Connect
  • Research and explore innovative strategies to improve adolescent heath
  • Work with Director to continue to improve Connect model and expand as needed
  • Serve as a liaison for CDC DASH School District Consortium
  • Work with Director to onboard new partners and reporting to funders
  • Work with Director to leverage resources to ensure sustainability of adolescent health model
  • Work with Adolescent Health Community Coordinator regarding effective public health campaigns and strategies for publication/ reporting
  • Find innovative solutions to adolescent health and
  • Supervise Adolescent Health Community Coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned
