This individual provides direct patient care as a Women's Health Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) in an effort to support and improve access for OB/GYN patients. The Women’s Health APC practices according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff. This individual functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Healthcare Credentialing Committee. The ideal candidate will have experience in women's health as an APC to support current clinicians with patient access. New graduate APCs will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of outcome-based APC services in accordance with privileges (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
- Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidence-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols/clinical practice guidelines.
- Functioning under the provisions of their license, and under the supervision of a physician (where indicated), the APC provides prenatal care to low risk patients, routine GYN care, and other services as required by the practice.
- Obtain pertinent patient history and perform a physical exam (H&P), as indicated by the visit type.
- Perform, order, and interpret both screening and diagnostic testing; address abnormal findings as needed within privileged scope of care.
- Perform comprehensive family planning counseling, cancer screening, STI care, and procedures.
- Develop a thorough treatment plan, which may include procedures, medical, or other referrals, and/or the prescribing of medications.
- Provide patient instruction regarding plan of care, preventive education, and health promotion and maintenance.
- Consult with other providers as necessary.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
- Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
- Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.
Qualifications
NP for women's health to support and improve access for OB/gyn patients. Ideal candidate will have experience in women's health as an advanced practice provider to support current providers with patient access.

Credentials
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Delaware APRN or PA licensure
- DEA: Current, full, active, and unrestricted DEA registration
- Life Support Certification: Possess current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification
Education
Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program (Women’s Health or Family Practice) or Physician Assistant program
