Working Hours: 1830-0630
Summary:
This is a working position responsible for the collection, aggregation, analysis, and reporting of complex clinical data. The Access Nurse assists with screening for appropriateness of admission utilizing medical necessity criteria for appropriate patient status for admission/observation; utilize non-financial criteria for screening transfers and direct admissions. The Access Nurse communicates with Physician's and Physician's nursing staff to establish the need for higher lever of care/ specialty care/ procedures communicates with Chief of Clinical Affairs as needed for case review. The Access Nurse obtains Physician admit status order from the admitting Physician and places order into EMR. The Access Nurse initiates transfer back agreements as appropriate from referring facilities. The Access Nurse assists outside Physicians with obtaining an accepting Physician and Facilitating the transfer/ direct admission.
Other information:
Current RN license in the State of Arkansas, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience including charge/ supervisory experience, 3 years UR/CM experience preferred. Must posses a high degree of strong interpersonal communication skills while utilizing excellent telephone etiquette. Strong analytical decision making and judgment skills. Strong computer skills preferred.
This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
