Position Summary
The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the assigned section. They plan, organize, and direct the activities of the technical and non-technical personnel to provide optimal, cost-effective delivery of services according to department standards of quality, productivity and performance. Serves as a resource to identify, investigate, resolve and monitor concerns when they are identified. The laboratory supervisor acts as a liaison for all levels of staff. They collaborate with managers to assure uninterrupted workflow. They also understand and comply with the Behavior Standards and department policies, procedures and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Associates degree in Medical Lab Science, Histotechnology, Biology or related field.
Experience
- Five years of laboratory experience within depth knowledge of laboratory operations
License/Registration/Certifications
- Certification by an acceptable laboratory registry as an HT or HTL
- Histology Supervisor must have ASCP with either HT or HTL

Preferred Experience
- Experience working off shift in a large hospital laboratory setting and prefer previous supervisory experience
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
- ASCP HT

- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
