Shift:  Night

Working Hours:  Evenings/Night Shift

Summary:
The Shift Supervisor recruits, hires, trains, disciplines and supervises staff including completion of performance evaluations and competency assessments. This full-time position has primary responsibility and accountability for planning and supervising the daily operation in the technical and phlebotomy departments to insure that service expectations and CAP requirements are met. The Shift Supervisor plays an integral role in the education of all staff, ensures that adequate staff is trained in all areas to provide needed coverage and creates a schedule that allows staff to rotate through the areas in which they are cross-trained. The Shift Supervisor may be required to perform technical tasks as needed. This is a fast-paced position requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to multi-task.

Other information:
BS in Medical Technology or Bachelor's degree with a Certificate in Medical Technology from a nationally accredited program. National Registry for Medical Technology (ASCP or equivalent). Minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Technologist, preferred 5 years experience. Ability to organize, communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, teach and work with others in an effective manner, possess excellent interpersonal and team skills and exceptional customer service skills. Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures. Must be able to effectively present gathered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies.

This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
