Description:
Position Purpose:
The Quality Lead Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for overseeing and performing advanced neurological, vascular, and general interventional radiology procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. This role involves coordinating technical operations, managing staff schedules, and maintaining quality assurance protocols. The technologist collaborates with medical directors and radiology managers to achieve organizational goals, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize efficiency. Additionally, will play a key role in staff education, patient care, and maintaining the Joint Commission standards, ODH regulations, and Comprehensive Stroke accreditation standards.
What you'll do:
- Technical Expertise and Coordination:
- As an expert-level IR Tech, perform both routine and advanced procedures independently.
- Advanced Procedures: qualified to perform specialized procedures such as endovascular thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke patients.
- Oversee technical operations, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow during interventional procedures. Equipment Superuser.
- Coordinate work assignments, maintaining competencies, and assisting with staff education.
- Vendor contact and coordinator for neurology procedures assistance performed in the interventional lab.
- Leadership and Staff Support:
- Alongside the IR Manager, Medical Directors, and Radiology Director, contribute to achieving organizational goals, including PI and KPI metrics.
- Work closely with neurointerventional radiologists, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive stroke care.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize efficiency within the lab.
- Manage on-call schedules and supply inventories.
- Quality Assurance and Accreditation:
- Ensures adherence to standards and protocols consistent with stroke certification, ODH and The Joint Commission Standards.
- Actively participate in Comprehensive Stroke Council meetings and responsible for PI and KPI processes that support and are used to improve accreditation.
- Participates in on-call coverage as applicable.
- Attends in-service programs and departmental meetings.
- Follows guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in MCHS Radiation Safety Policy Manual.

What we're looking for:
- Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
- License / Certification: Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Valid State of Ohio Radiological License required. Radiology: Advanced registry by the ARRT in VI required.
- Experience: 2 years’ work experience in all phases of diagnostic radiography, preferred; with angiography, cardiac catheterization, or surgery experience preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Senior Interventional Radiographer or equivalent.
- Experience: 3 years neurological interventional experience preferred.
- Current BLScertification required.
- ACLS within 3 months of acceptance
- Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision.
