Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Physician & Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Recruiting to lead our recruitment team. This role is critical in ensuring that our healthcare organization attracts, hires, and retains top-tier physicians and APCs, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other advanced practice roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of healthcare recruitment, and a strategic mindset to drive the talent acquisition process.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract high-quality physicians and APCs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of recruiters, an onboarding coordinator, and recruitment coordinator, providing guidance and support to ensure recruitment goals are met.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align recruitment strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
Recruitment Process Management:
- Oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through efficient and effective recruitment practices.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor and improve recruitment processes, including time-to-fill metrics, candidate quality, and cost-per-hire.
Sourcing & Outreach:
- Build and maintain relationships with medical schools, residency programs, professional associations, and other key sources of physician and APC talent.
- Develop and execute targeted outreach campaigns to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
- Provide representation of the organization at recruitment events, conferences, community events and job fairs.
Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare recruitment.
- Implement and maintain best practices in recruitment to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with department heads, hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment plans.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on recruitment progress and challenges.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the recruitment team, the system Talent Acquisition team, the Physician and APC Compensation Consultant and across the organization.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in physician and APC recruitment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting and retaining physicians and APCs in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends, physician/APC workforce challenges, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment technologies.
- Ability to travel as needed for recruitment events and meetings.
