Recently, I graduated from Eastwick College with my AAS, Associate Degree in Applied Science majoring in Surgical Technology.
My education included a three (3) month clinical externship at Stamford Hospital (main OR and Tully ambulatory center), as well as a private surgery center in Sparta, NJ focusing on ophthalmic surgery. Upon program completion I became eligible to sit for the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, and CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) exam. I became certified on July 17th, 2015.
Highlights of my experience during my clinical rotation at Stamford Hospital include:
- Assisted as First or Second Scrub in over 200 Plastic, Orthopedic, ENT, General, Ophthalmic, GYN, GU, and Endoscopic procedures
- Checked supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure
- Set up sterile table: instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, and solutions.
- Performed appropriate counts with circulator prior and before incision is closed
- Passed instruments to surgeon during procedure.
- Assisted other team members with terminal cleaning of room and assisted in preparing room for the next patient.

Four year university. Majored in biology (focus in genetic research) and double minored in Holocaust studies and writing. Obtained a BA and have acquired 140 credits.
